Renita Narine of the Driving.ca website was determined to review the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L from a very important standpoint this past week! We have spoken to many “millennial moms” ourselves here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow regarding what boxes they need to be checked when it comes to a vehicle. Being spacious, comfortable, and family-friendly are traits that can make busy lives easier. Even when all these expectations are met, there can sometimes be a certain connecting component missing.
She begins by claiming that she would typically prefer a minivan over a 3-row SUV. She wants 7 or 8 seats instead of just six and heavily leans toward the efficiency of a hybrid. She headed out for a test drive of the mid-level Limited trim and prepared to report back on her findings. The Limited does not include massaging seats for the front passengers, which admittedly could be comforting for a busy parent in a worn-out state. It does include the Trailer package, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and an upgraded speaker system.
This trim and lower are equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. When it comes time for a bit of stress relief at the lake or campsite, the Limited trim has a towing capacity of 6,200 lbs. Even though the Grand Cherokee L is the Grand Cherokee's longer version, it doesn't always feel that way during precarious parking-lot maneuvering. The SUV has a comforting heavy sensation while driving, allowing it to stay planted during the demands of duties like soccer-team-shuttling.
Even the third-row seats are spacious, and here Renita made sure that a living and breathing child agreed! With the third row in use, there are 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space, where she managed to squeeze in a few duffel bags for an overnight trip. With the second and third rows folded, there is 84.6 cubic feet of cargo space. While it should be noted that anyone with a family of four or 5 may not ever experience this space, there are 84.6 cubic feet available if the opportunity arises.
She loved that her kids never had any trouble getting in on their own, along with the huge space in between the middle second-row seats. The Fam Cam also scored huge brownie points here, allowing for you to reinforce the eyes in the back of the head you’ve always threatened terrible twos with! After this test drive the crew ranked the Uconnect 5 infotainment system as the most intuitive on the market. You don’t have to dig deep into the various available layers to do most necessary tasks, and there’s a handy home button to quickly return to the vehicle screen.
Even though many drivers get fully caught up in the “bigger is better” mantra, this Jeep proves that SUVs don’t need a gaping footprint to be family-friendly. The Edmunds.com review team praised this year’s Jeep Grand Cherokee L for its class-leading towing and genuine off-road capability. Taking a drive with this model into the wilderness means you don’t at all have to give up on comfort or luxury!
The available air suspension helps create a luxurious ride that will make the long holiday or sports team journeys much more bearable. This “millennial mom” ranked the Jeep Grand Cherokee L an all-out winner, which is very pressing to us here at Landmark. As the back-to-school season begins, there’s no better time to test drive a proven toddler-friendly champion.
