Back-to-school season is an excellent time of year to keep an eye on the Jeep line here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow! It’s also the time when we get the scoop on all sorts of exciting upcoming releases. Jeep’s first fully electric SUV will be launched later this year, as the Wagoneer S (somewhat silently!) roars to life. Two months ago, esteemed CEO Antonio FIlosa excitedly claimed that the Wagoneer S would offer a “100% electric and distinctively Jeep” feel.
It’s easy to notice the Wagoneer S’s “purely Jeep” elements, but there are also other excellent features that signify future advancements. The completely redesigned seven-slot grille is infused with traditional and a bit of retro Jeep flair, while its ambient cast lighting brings about a very modern touch. Since there’s no longer a need for efficient engine cooling, The SUV’s grille is now closed-off and looks more aggressive. The STLA Large platform offers reliable bones for the package, allowing the Wagoneer S to crank out 600 horsepower and 617 lb-ft of torque.
Before you’re ready to leap over boulders, you’ll leap up to 60 mph in an off-road savvy 3.4 seconds! One amazing comparison to think about is that Tesla’s Model Y Performance accomplishes this feat within the same time frame. “How far can you go” has remained a very relevant question for all EV shoppers, and this new Wagoneer S will net over 300 miles of range with the 100-kWh battery. Any new vehicle’s ability to fast charge has also been a huge selling point as of late, and here you can achieve an 80% boost in just over 20 minutes.
The interior is fully loaded with Jeep’s latest productivity and media tech, along with the software to reach your destination with no problem. The “real estate market” within the auto realm has also been heating up over the past few years, and it’s not over the same kind of square footage it is for homes! The Wagoneer S’s best-in-class 45” of screen space allows everyone aboard to enjoy the best in connectivity and productivity on asphalt or far beyond.
Many locations out there can throw a wrench in even a well-equipped Jeep’s route! The Electrek blog reporting team was on location to see just how well it was while challenged with the brutally cold and city conditions of New Zealand. The EV’s Selec-Terrain traction control system comes equipped with different modes to properly slay inclement conditions like a boss! Eco, Sand, Snow, Sport, and Auto modes all change things up to make your adventure a reality.
The Snow mode reduces power sent to the wheels for smoother starts and adjusts throttle response to provide touch traction-conquering capability. Sport mode is a high-octane additive to the mix that enhances performance by providing quicker throttle response and shifting at higher RPMs. This model also offers more body torsion stiffness than other vehicles in its size category, which also makes for much less noise along the way. Jeep has also revealed that a different off-road-focused Trailhawk edition will be on par to compete with Rivian’s R1S. This will be the beginning of what Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares billed as “the automaker’s EV offensive for the U.S.”, including 6 to 8 all-electric vehicles this year.
