We have come to understand here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow that sometimes announcements within the automotive landscape can be a bit exaggerated! It seems that last year there were some “official words” and snippets flying around the digital news outlets about the V8’s death in the Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition will make its illustrious return for the 2025 model year.
The special edition was originally launched for the 2024 model year to bid a final farewell to the Wrangler’s potent V8. This is a well-liked 6.4-liter that cranks out 470 horsepower. There were only 3,700 of these made, with 3,300 dedicated to the states. Stellantis has officially confirmed that order books will open later this year, and production will begin in the first quarter of 2025. The Wrangler Rubicon 392 already comes equipped with some amazing goodies as standard. The Final Edition treatment adds an 8,000-lb rated Warn Winch for starters, capable of getting you completely unstuck from any off-road predicament!
There are also Mopar-designed rock sliders and a swing gate table along with a half-inch suspension lift that creates 11.6 inches of ground clearance. Taming the call of the wild can entail crossing a tricky stream or two, and this gives the Wrangler Rubicon 392 34.5 inches of water-fording ability. You can’t knock out a proper trail-tackling session without sweet tires, so the Final Edition also includes the Rubicon 392’s Xtreme 35 Tire Package. This provides cool 35-inch tires and bronze 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, along with “Final Edition” hood and fender decals.
Inside, there’s incredibly luxurious black nappa leather trim, a monogrammed shifter medallion, and a swing gate plaque. You’ll be scrambling up to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and nailing down the quarter mile at around 13 seconds. Good news sometimes comes in the tiniest amounts, and we’re glad to announce that here that is not the case! This won’t be the only Stellantis vehicle still coming equipped with a V8 next year, as the Durango’s Last Call edition will be equipped with this form of “heavy artillery” as well.
The Rebelle Rally was the scene of the proving ground for the 2024 Jeep Rubicon X model, where the Motor Trend crew put 100 miles and a full day in behind the wheel. They first eagerly devoured the opportunity to check out its steel rear bumper, the body-color fender flares, and 12-way adjustable leather seats. The seats were a huge factor in the Wrangler’s success during this test run. Its very robust 4-wheel drive meant that they never had to rely solely on momentum to get uphill or through sand.
During the challenge’s desert stretches, this group chose the E-Save mode to preserve the battery. The vehicle made easy work of the desert and rendered some potentially challenging situations pretty stress-free. The Drive’s esteemed auto writing staff had claimed that the 2024 Wrangler is the most capable one yet, and feels like the top choice when on the hunt for a “genuinely useful package.” Their driving position was upright and comfortable, and their 6-ft-three team lead even had enough headroom. The Uconnect 5 infotainment system was also among the most straightforward and simple systems the crew had ever used.
