The Motor Trend team is one of the best sources for breaking automotive news that we rely on here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow, as they have long had their watchful eyes on all angles of the industry. They were able to share the details known about 8 upcoming all-new electric vehicles from Stellantis. Leaked images of what appears to be a production-ready version of the Wagoneer S EV have made their way online, allowing experts to reflect on the details.
We are already certain that the new Jeep Wagoneer S EV will be based on the Stellantis STLA Large vehicle platform. This setup enables segment-leading capabilities such as embedded energy of 118 kWh, a 4.5kWh per minute charging efficiency, and a 0-60 mph sprint in the 3-second range. The new Wagoneer S has already been confirmed to be offered in an all-electric form and will be released as a premium midsize SUV designed to compete with the Land Rover Range Rover Sport after it is officially available later this year.
It appears to be roughly the size of the current-model Grand Cherokee, with more sweeping features and a roof that emerges south prominently to the rear wing. The unique LED-lit grille has been reinvented to elevate the appearance to a premium level, and one camera angle reveals fresh cut lines that were not as evident in the concept car. This clues us into the notion that the vehicle may already be assembly line ready, while there is also a new wheel design on display as well. The Wagoneer S Concept is said to offer as much as 400 miles of range, and a 3.5-second 0-60 mph time.
Since this officially takes things into the Trackhawk territory for speed, it means that it will be an extreme blast to drive. The STLA Large platform is said to be able to accommodate 85 to 118-kWh battery packs and offer 11.3 inches of ground clearance for the ultimate “Land and stream” conquering ability. All-terrain management will also come as standard equipment, with available upgrades such as multicolor ambient lighting, and “eco-mindful materials.” There is also a 19-speaker Mcintosh audio system to provide the best soundscapes for the journey.
The Wagoneer S is slightly smaller and more compact than the current-model Jeep Grand Cherokee, but the two share the same expansive amount of legroom. Since both the floor and battery of the EV are very flat, designers were able to take full advantage of this interior and construct an excellent D-segment style package. It has been thrilling to watch the 4xe strategy become an enormous success for Jeep, as it will be one of four all-electric SUVs for North America and four for Europe by the end of next year.
Another means of information posted to various Jeep social channels last week revealed a very sweet-looking Wagoneer S ready to publicly emerge soon. This model also revealed a rear-facing camera and additional details of new design accents. We are confident that this will be a fitting rival for the Cadillac Lyriq and offer a commanding presence that still embodies traditional Jeep laurels to evoke appeal. The latest Uconnect system will preside over the infotainment setup, offering the always-savvy wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
