“Rumbling to the pearly gates” may not necessarily be the way that some car lovers want to picture the high-powered Charger and Challenger here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow! Even though a few great models may now be gone, the 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet and R/T 20th Anniversary special editions were the focus of a special Autoblog article this week. Spacious enough to move a family around yet fierce enough to cause a ruckus, this pair now comes in a new very cool two-tone exterior color.
This “Triple Nickel” sports a Satin Black hood along with the contrasts of 20-inch wheels in a Lights Out finish, and red Brembo brake calipers on the massive stopping mechanism. There are also some sweet gray metallic Hellcat badges and a Satin Black Dodge badge that resides directly over the Satin Black exhaust tips. An initial glance inside reveals Ebony Red Nappa leather SRT seats with embroidered SRT logos, a suede-wrapped steering wheel and suede headliner, and an instrument panel with unique silver stitching.
The carbon fiber trim stands out and makes things visually pop! The 2025 Durango R/T 20th Anniversary edition is a fully loaded celebration of 20 years of Durango, and its delightful yet menacing 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The body now comes in Diamond Black, Destroyer Grey, Vapor Grey, or White Knuckle, along with the choice of two trims. Both come with a chilling black HEMI graphic on the hood, blacked-out badges, and the staggeringly powerful Tow N Go Package. This ups the lugging capacity to 8,700 lbs, and the Brembo brake system sports black calipers directly behind 20-inch forged wheels.
Both trims have performance seats in Alcantara with Tupelo stitching in front, striking carbon fiber trim, and captain’s chairs in the second row. Purchasers of the R/T trim will also get to learn some asphalt-slaying chops during the SRT Track Experience. The Plus trim adds the engaging visuals of a sunroof, heated and ventilated front-row seats, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, and the Trailer Tow group.
The Premium Trim bumps the audio experience up to a 19-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, suede headliner, and assist features such as Lane Departure Warning. The Edmunds.com review team reflected that the Durango is an “intriguing alternative for shoppers who find most three-row crossovers a bit boring.” The Durango initially arrived on the scene with a much bolder persona than the average family hauler of the times. This went quite a long way toward making a practical vehicle feel more recreational instead of just a necessity.
These savvy reviewers recommended the R/T trim level, which arrives as performance-oriented and prone. It has a hefty V8, sport-tuned suspension, and a larger touchscreen. The Car and Driver crew praised this year’s Dodge Durango for its “dizzying power, straight-line acceleration, and amazing towing power.” They also laid down some pretty telling truths about the competition, as this much output in an SUV requires a Ferrari, Lambo, or Aston Martin. These also command a much higher final bill!
If you are looking into a 710-horsepower SUV, maximum value is a priority. The Pirelli P Zero summer tires are on deck to deliver maximum warm-ray performance. This superpowered output is routed through an 8-speed automatic transmission and then sent to all four wheels. As soon as you hammer down on the right pedal you are treated to the Hellcat’s memorable built-in soundtrack, with the supercharger’s whine serving up some tasty thunder!
