The Jeep brand has always been exhilarating and adventurous. When the time of year arrives that offers fresh flowers along with the occasional refreshing downpour, it’s also when innovative new concepts are revealed to the public. This year Jeep announced 4 brand-new heritage-inspired concepts just before the thrilling Easter Safari in Utah, along with a personal greeting from the lineup for all in attendance to witness.
First up on the list is a Wrangler “Low Down” concept, which references the “lower 40” idea set into motion back in 2009. The perfectly trail-ready power is supplied by a 6.4-liter V8, which cranks out 475 horsepower and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. There are also 42-inch mud tires to provide the sensational spin and “unstuck weapon” for the wild, along with brand-new axles to provide an ideally lower center of gravity.
The rear door handles are now absent from the package, and there is a new custom carbon bonnet allowing you to have a direct sight line to the powertrain. Rhino-lined floors protect the valuable low end from the leftovers and drip-ins due to various road conditions, and there are also very cool black leather seats for the journey. Next in the ridge-and-canon-inspired line is the very cool army-green Willys “Dispatcher” concept, which provides the cool visual intersection of rugged elements and a sweeping and modern engine.
The Dispatcher is powered by a 2.0-liter 4xe hybrid unit, which cranks out 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of hill-dominating torque. This concept’s interior displays ultra-cool houndstooth cloth bits with very unique saddle leather, with a worn-in and weathered feel. There aren’t even any headrests in the Dispatcher, while there’s also an onboard tire compressor if you ever find yourself in an unsavory situation.
The Gladiator has done an excellent job of continuously wowing audiences with its go-anywhere Jeep stance infused with a capable truck bed. It employs a trusty 3.6-liter V6 and features numerous durable extra bolt-on goodies courtesy of Mopar. The High Top variant sports 40-inch tires with 18-inch satin black wheels, along with an adjustable air suspension. The flat wheel arches at each corner add a vintage touch that celebrates the original stance which made Jeep so appealing and lovable in the first place!
The High Top also offers a few more unique bits out back than its counterparts, with a very secure lockable cargo space which you can access through a convenient pair of sliding drawers. The fourth and final “dependable dune warrior in the mix” is the V6-powered “Vacationeer” concept, doling out a hefty 500 horsepower. Its wintergreen-toned aesthetic is primed and ready for any remote and hard-to-reach campsite and flaunts a 1.5-inch lift kit.
The Vacationer also offers a very durable extra dose of protective plating underneath, along with an array of LED lights that could emulate the Northerns themselves if in a tight dusk pinch! This model also features a skyloft with the sudden removal of second and third-row seats to offer up the perfect summer night’s sleeping nook. The Jeep 4x4 concept illustrates how the Wrangler’s extreme capability can appeal to such a wide range of active lifestyles. Unmatched 392 power is a huge draw for this foursome, which collectors and enthusiasts alike will love to add to their arsenal.
