Receiving a large bundle of awards and accolades for its continued excellence and hard-work-ready skills, the Ram 1500 is now enjoying its 2024 release here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow. This is our trusty and tremendous answer to the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado, and it has been known as one of the more luxurious offerings in its segment since its refresh in 2019. It was the first in the pack to ditch leaf springs and swap them for an air suspension on a pickup and features the tech-savvy crowd-pleaser in the form of a massive tablet-style display right on the dash.
Also present in this primo haul and tow-ready rig is a dose of striking sheet metal and a very quiet interior. This is a fully-fledged recipe for an excellent everyday companion that bursts at the seams with practical capability. We admit that plenty of focus has been on the fully electric version of the 1500 pickup coming soon, and even though some options may change, and a new appearance package may find its way to some trim levels, the 2024 Ram 1500 will remain the same.
The Car Connection crew praised the incoming 1500 for its supple ride, reasonable MPG, great interior, and very solid infotainment setup. The Laramie equipped with the V8 is an amazing and burly tool for hauling as well as the daily drive, and the ride is always just as comfortable or even better than any SUV out there. The Ram 1500 is so thoroughly superior that it took home the Truck of the Year award from Motor Trend twice.
The new Limited Elite Edition now includes a multi-function tailgate, a jeweled rotary shifter, a unique entertainment cluster, premium heated and ventilated leather seats, a suede headliner, and a heated steering wheel. Rear seat reminder is now standard, and the glove box has got on board with the virus fight with its hygienic UV light on standby. No pickup in the segment better balances capability, efficiency, quality, and value. Offering very generous content on lower trims along with very luxurious top-of-the-line features, the Ram line has gone to great lengths to offer something for every driver.
The 702-horsepower TRX is an all-out riot, and firmly executed enough to earn Ram’s full-size pickup with its second Truck of the Year title. One of the favorite powertrain choices for all-around performance and efficiency is the 5.7-liter V8, cranking out 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft of torque. It quickly rushes to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds and is a staple as a benchmark for allowing those interested in a new truck to witness just how impressive the RAM build and performance are.
The Ram 1500 boasts exceptional safety quality for a full-size pickup, as it earned “Good” scores in all crashworthiness categories from the IIHS, along with a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA. Automatic emergency braking is included on all but the Bighorn and Tradesman trims, and adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and trailer sway control are all available or standard depending on the selected trim level. With any larger screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and mid-tier trims come equipped with an 8.4-inch display.
