Busy holiday seasons such as this remind us just how much we need spacious (and comfortable!) transportation for our families and friends. Here at Landmark Dodge of Morrow, we think the Chrysler Pacifica is the perfect fit for families on the go, and we’re happy to report that the staff at Autoblog appreciates it as much as we do. Take note of the following key takeaways from their review of the new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica.
A notable update for 2023 is the brand-new Road Tripper package, which is available on the Touring L trim levels of both the gas and hybrid models of the Pacifica. It adds unique graphics and wheels in luster gray with orange highlights. You’ll also get “Granite Crystal” exterior trim, all-weather floor mats, a roof rack and the gas model even includes the Trailer Tow group. The Autoblog team excitedly pronounced that the Pacifica has its competitor, the Honda Odyssey, beat by a longshot.
There’s plenty of room up front to stretch, and plenty of storage locations within reach. Chrysler paid a great attention to detail when designing the interior, and the perforated leather seats with fine stitching are particularly inviting. Stepping up to the Pinnacle trim adds top-tier goodies like quilted leather seats and cushions situated in the second row. The Uconnect infotainment system is also an excellent additive along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Upper trim levels can be equipped with a rear-seat entertainment system that gives each passenger their own dedicated screen mounted to the back of each front seat. Keeping tabs on any waged wars between siblings or general discontent amongst passengers is a snap with the available FamCam that turns the main infotainment screen into a savvy way to monitor everything going on. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 9-speed automatic.
EPA-estimated fuel economy is situated at 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined with FWD, and 17/25/20 mpg on AWD models. If you opt for the Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, you’ll get 32 miles of all-electric range. Once the all-electric range is depleted, the Pacifica Hybrid still uses both its electric motor and 3.6-liter V6, with a horsepower output residing at a very satisfactory 260. The added bonus that we feel drivers will constantly take notice of during each rushed errand is the supreme handling: courtesy of the 568-pound battery pack low in the chassis between the axles there is a very noticeable and satisfying difference.
