Auto-mechanic(1)When To Replace Your Oxygen Sensor:

If not taken care of in proper time, your oxygen sensor can cause other problems like premature failure of your catalytic converter, increasing the total you will spend with the next repair. With the prices of gas high as they are, keeping your oxygen sensor up to date, or replacing it when it’s time, will save you hundreds of dollars each year just in fuel costs.

The typical time to replace an oxygen sensor for vehicles made from the late mid 1970s to about 1990 is about every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. For the newer makes and models, get your oxygen sensor checked about every 80,000 to 100,000 miles. If your check engine light comes on, have your mechanic check the oxygen sensors when you take your car in.

The Chrysler 300 Touring Plus and 300 S6/S8 are on the way!

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Landmark Dodge Chrysler Jeep ordered its first Chrysler 300 S6, S8, and Touring Plus April 16, 2010.

The Touring Plus is the Touring model naturally with several additional features, an upgraded engine to a 3.5 liter V6 engine, and standard ABS, traction control, and stability control at a discount that makes it more attractive than Taurus SE or Buick Lacrosse CX. The car had the usual four speed automatic, with Sirius Satellite Radio.

The 300S, meanwhile, received considerable attention at auto shows. Its most notable feature was the “shaved” door look, with no body moldings, and the body-color fascia accents and mirrors. Inside, the car had unique “high performance” seats; the production version will be available with either cloth or leather, and a unique steering wheel with carbon weave. The seats, either way, are dark gray with an embroidered 300 S logo, with red accents; the door-pull handles are “carbon weave” with red accent detail.

The 13-speaker Kicker audio system is powered by a 322 watt amp and has a 100-watt subwoofer. Heated front seats and remote start are included. Both S6 and S8 models also have 20 inch wheels with black painted pockets, fog lamps, iPod interface, tire pressure monitoring, power adjustable pedals, universal garage door remote, and remote start.

The 300 S6 was based on the Signature series, with a standard 3.5 liter V6, four-speed automatic.

The 300 S8 was based on the 300C, and included the Hemi and five-speed automatic, with all the other features of the 300S plus passive entry, Keyless Go, and rain sensitive wipers.

All-New 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Coming SOON to Landmark!!

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee made another public appearance this week at the Chicago Auto Show. Its good looks inside and out, powerful engine options, smooth yet competent suspension and newly found luxury status will make a driving impact for the New Jeep Brand.

The exterior design is much more upscale, with styling cues taken from the Mercedes M-Class. The exterior design wasn’t the only thing that Mercedes contributed to the long awaited SUV.

There has been plenty of technology and luxury implemented into the interior. Real wood accents, lots of leather, and heated seats for the front passengers as well as rear passengers. A few other great options that are new for the 2011 model; twin-panel panoramic roof, an intelligent remote start (which automatically heats or cools the interior based on outside air temp), a collision warning system, adaptive cruise control, and a blind-spot/rear cross path detection system.

Under the hood of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a V6 engine producing 280 horsepower while still providing competitive fuel efficiency. Also available is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 producing 360 horsepower and is an attractive choice for those that require high towing capabilities.

Ride quality has been improved greatly without removing the Trail Rated suspension. Suspension has been one of the biggest improvements, now sporting a 4-wheel independent suspension with air suspension allowing the SUV to adjust the ride level by 4 inches. Electronic limited-slip differential provides superior off-road traction.
