2011 Dodge Durango Hits the Streets

September 3rd, 2010

Dodge is planning a total assault on the status quo for the 2011 model year, and it all starts with the 2011 Dodge Durango. While the name may sound familiar, the 2011 Durango is nothing like the SUV of yore and marks an entirely new, fresh, forward-thinking era of Dodge design. With its stiffened unibody structure and optimal 50/50 weight distribution, Durango is engineered with the driving enthusiast in mind. The end result is a vehicle that delivers premium driving performance combined with SUV capability and crossover versatility.

2011 Dodge Durango - Landmark Dodge Atlanta Georgia

Beneath the hood, drivers are afforded all of the capability they’ve come to expect from a SUV thanks to the impressive engine choices. Available standard is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with 6,200 lbs tow capacity, fantastic fuel efficiency, and variable-valve timing (VVT). For those in need of a little more power, the legendary 5.7L HEMI® V-8 is also available and prepared to haul a staggering 7,400 lbs. The interior has been completely revamped for 2011 to provide a ride experience that is as extraordinarily breathtaking as it is capable. Surfaces are smooth and soft to the touch while the dazzling driver display creates a visually stunning cockpit that you’ll find difficult to resign to just the garage. The cutting-edge amenities are complemented by modern safety features, including standard front seat-mounted side air bags, side-curtain air bags that cover passengers in all three rows, Blind-spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Path detection, and Forward Collision Warning.

Of course, perhaps the best part of this bundle of joy is that you won’t have to sacrifice at the pump to enjoy it. Thanks to our dedicated team of engineers and our commitment to consumer values, we’ve managed to produce a capable, powerful, fuel-efficient vehicle that can easily travel 500 miles on a single tank. True, that means the trip to your mother-in-law’s just got a lot more direct, but it also means driving up-state to the big game just got a lot less expensive.

At Landmark Dodge Chrysler Jeep, we can’t help but get excited about new models that are coming out and  our staff tends to blabber everytime we hear another detail about what Chrysler products are coming to our showroom!

The latest news is the New 2011 Jeep Wrangler just went into production in the Toledo, Ohio plant. The Wrangler has been around for a long time, and we have seen three generations of it right here at Landmark. Now we’d like to introduce to you the latest Jeep Wrangler.

New 2011 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Feature All-new Interior and Premium, Body-color, Removable Hard Top

August 19, 2010 , Auburn Hills, Mich.

Chrysler Group LLC released images today of the new 2011 Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited.

Jeep continues to refine the successful Wrangler formula by combining its legendary, benchmark capability with an all-new interior that delivers rich styling with significantly upgraded touch surfaces, occupant comfort and versatility, and a premium appearance courtesy of an all-new body-color hard top for the popular Sahara model.

“The iconic Jeep Wrangler keeps getting better,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “While retaining unmatched, legendary capability, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler boasts an all-new interior that delivers a host of comfort, convenience and versatility features. In addition, Sahara models now feature a stunning, all-new body-color hard top, for customers looking for a Jeep Wrangler with a more premium appearance.”

New 2011 Jeep Wrangler interior highlights include a redesigned instrument panel and new storage areas with improved ergonomics and upgraded materials. A new lockable console and upgraded door armrest areas boast comfortable touch points, while a redesigned center stack is easier to reach and operate. Heated, power mirrors are now available, and drivers and passengers will enjoy enhanced visibility courtesy of larger rear windows.

All-new steering-wheel controls allow the driver to operate the radio, cruise control, hands-free phone and other vehicle functions while keeping hands on the wheel. A new USB device interface connects to storage devices (thumb drives and most MP3 players) for use with the vehicle’s Media Center, which now includes streaming Bluetooth audio. Twelve-volt accessory outlets have been added and a new 110-volt outlet is available to provide power similar to AC outlets in the home.

In line with traditional Jeep design, hex-head bolts are utilized throughout the interior, and are used to mount a “Jeep, Since 1941″ inlay onto the new passenger grab handle.

Jeep engineers increased acoustical treatment in the 2011 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, resulting in significantly reduced interior noise.

To provide a more premium appearance, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Sahara models boast an all-new, premium, body-color hard top.

Several new Jeep Wrangler colors are available for 2011, including Detonator Yellow, Deep Cherry Red, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Bright White.

Production of the new 2011 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited began earlier this week at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Toledo, Ohio.

Spy Shots-New 2011 Dodge Charger on the Fast and Furious movie set

August 25th, 2010

It is confirmed that the 2011 Dodge Charger will indeed receive a new full-width taillamp treatment that looks a lot like that of it’s two-door Challenger kin.  These spy shots were captured by Jose Rosario during filming in Puerto Rico for the latest installment in the Fast and The Furious movie franchise. The photos show not only the addition of the full length rear taillights but also the aggressive front end and new interior.

The 2011 model’s interior, reveals a much more cohesive look. A new three-spoke steering wheel with redundant audio controls beckons, as does what appears to be a start button. The gauge cluster avoids the four gauge layout of the current car for a more unified cluster that’s marked out by a liberal helping of satin gunmetal trim and vertically oriented air vents bookend a new infotainment screen. Immediately below the screen, the Charger maintains its simple three-knob HVAC controls, and a step down from there is the CD slot. In the center console, a gated gear shift surrounded by what looks like faux carbon-fiber trim or more satin gunmetal trim. We are excited by all the improvements that the new 2011 Dodge Charger will have and can’t wait to start getting them here at Landmark Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram.

Spy shots-2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

August 16th, 2010

A couple months after the release of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a great response from our customers on the new design, we are thrilled to see Grand Cherokee and SRT8 back in the same sentence. Chrysler has been hard at work on a the high-powered SRT version of the new SUV. In the past, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 has always been a guilty pleasure of ours, if only for the rocket-like 6.1-liter Hemi V8 underhood.

Good news then that Chrysler is prepping an all new 6.4-liter Hemi for use in its SRT products, and we’re anxious to see how this new engine works in the Grand Cherokee application, which seems likely to hit as a 2012 model.

Early reports suggest that the engine could produce around 450 horsepower, but spy photographers are saying that we could see over 500 raging stallions coming out of this new monster mill. This means the new Grand Cherokee SRT8 could rip off 0-60 times in under five seconds!

Official News – 2011 Dodge Durango confirmed

August 13th, 2010

Rumors have been brewing of the New 2011 Dodge Durango since production stopped back in 2009. The name that was going to be used was one of the biggest questions but recently Dodge created a website with a sneak peak at the body lines and small elements of the next Durango’s design. Check it out.

The 2011 Durango shares the vast majority of its architecture from the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we expect both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 to be available underhood. Curiously, Dodge refers to the new Durango as a “three-row performance SUV” in its press release, which leads us to believe that Chrysler might have another trick or two up its sleeve. Durango SRT8? Makes sense, especially since the new 6.4-liter Hemi is slated for use in the New 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We also note that Dodge doesn’t appear to be playing up the Durango as an off-road model, either, at least where badging is concerned – instead of proclaiming the new model available with four-wheel drive, they’ve added an all-wheel drive badge.

Spy Shots:2012 Chrysler 300 – First Look

August 9th, 2010

The next Chrysler 300 has had some chiseling and wedging applied to its current stoic proportions. The perfectly horizontal shoulder line now sweeps up from a lower front end into a shorter decklid. The nearly perpendicular front and rear on the 2010 have also been reshaped, particularly in the rear. Detail-wise, only the mirrors appear to have carried over, with what looks like new headlight hardware in an angled design, LED taillights in back, an integrated exhaust treatment and new rear window glass.
